Our Hosted Infrastructure Team has an essential role to play in making that happen. They’re the people responsible for the delivery, ongoing management and provisioning of our Technical Infrastructure Platforms both in our data centre and in the cloud. The team supports a broad set of projects – including Application Modernisation, Software-defined Infrastructure, Software-defined Network and driving greater uptake of modern platforms. And as demand continues to grow, so to do the number of opportunities to join the team.
That’s where you come in
We’re looking for a number of bright-minded people, who can use their previous experience delivering technical infrastructure platforms to help us improve the way we do things. There are multiple roles available, with specialist skills required across storage, midrange, database, cloud and integration. You’ll have one or more of these key skills – and apply them across design, build and operations to drive the delivery cycle.
As a central point of contact for the HIS unit, you’ll help keep stakeholders in the loop with their projects, while prioritising the Kanban or operations delivery queue. As those priorities change or evolve, you’ll groom the backlog and reprioritize, using modern techniques to measure delivery cycle time. In your role, you’ll also be driven to improve cycle time, as well as how efficient the team is at delivering infrastructure
Working agile comes as second nature to you – so does coaching team members and resolving conflict. You’ll use tools like JIRA and Confluence to advocate for more modern methods, as well as the agile and design thinking concepts that characterise the way we work at NAB. But above all else, you’ll be an integral part of building a team culture – where doing great work and loving your work come hand in hand.
What sort of skills will I need?
We’re looking for people with anywhere from 5-15 years of experience – especially if you’ve got work as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) under your belt, and can use agile performance metrics to drive your team’s performance. Building and nurturing great relationships comes naturally to you, and you’ll have proven leadership skills as well. Exposure to DevOps, along with Software Delivery technical skills like Continuous Delivery and Automated Testing will also serve you well in your role.
As a point of contact for the rest of the business, you’ll be comfortable communicating and presenting in formal and informal environments, and carrying yourself with a sense of energy and engagement.
