Our Dispute Resolution team

MinterEllison has an outstanding track record in the strategic resolution of disputes throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region and is recognised as a leader in dispute resolution. Our practice has renowned depth of knowledge and expertise in every main land capital city of Australia, in New Zealand and Hong Kong. This breadth enables us to meet our clients' needs quickly and seamlessly and to access courts in all jurisdictions expeditiously when injunctions are required.

Secretary Opportunities

Our busy team are looking to fill a number of Secretary positions including fixed-term contract and permanent roles:

General litigation. We have a full-time 12 month contract role supporting a prominent litigation Partner and a number of lawyers. This Partner specialises in large scale commercial disputes and regulatory matters, as well as commercial and corporate matters, class actions and information technology disputes.

IP & Trademark litigation. This is a permanent full-time position for an experienced Secretary to support a leading IP Partner and a number of lawyers. This team specialises in IP disputes, trade mark matters (including registration), licensing and IT disputes.

Reconstruction & Insolvency. This is a permanent full-time position for an experienced Secretary to assist a Partner and a number of lawyers in this busy practice. The team specialise in all aspects of insolvency and restructuring along with securities enforcement, commercial disputes and general risk management.

These roles will suit candidates with advanced secretarial skills, ideally gained in a fast-paced litigation practice. In addition, you will possess the following attributes:

  • high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • strong document management skills including advanced Word document skills including document creation and presentation
  • strong understanding of software applications including Excel, PowerPoint, practice management and other technology systems, including legal billing systems
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and manage deadlines
  • ability to liaise at all levels (including very senior clients and partners)
  • a strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, industry experts and clients
  • demonstrated ability, and resilience, to work in an environment that expects excellence as a minimum
