About the role
The Curtin Corrosion Centre is seeking a Research Associate to help establish a state-of-the-art research facility to serve the demand of the energy and mining sectors.
In partnership with Chevron and Woodside, this unique opportunity will allow you to conduct fundamental and applied research in environmental cracking of both high-strength low alloy steels and corrosion resistant alloys. Synergism between the oil and gas, nuclear, aerospace, and maritime industries is anticipated.
•Demonstrated ability to conduct corrosion testing —preferably environmental cracking research such as slow stress rate testing— as well as various electrochemical evaluations, and materials characterizations
•Advanced mechanical testing experience and basic programming skills (e.g., LabView, MathLab) are desirable.
•A doctoral qualification combined with high-level research experience relevant to the position is desirable. Candidates holding a MSc or a BSc in relevant areas are encouraged to apply.
