Your role in the future:

24 Month Fixed Term Contract

As a Network Security Specialist, you will be part of the Network Security- Risk and Compliance function that sits within the Network Engineering and Operations (NEO) group.

You will be responsible for executing all the necessary Line 1 security control processes within NEO. Strong stakeholder management will be of upmost importance, because you will be working closely with them throughout the business, ensuring that all capability delivered meets our security requirements and will work with Line 2 to ensure all controls are executed in accordance with security policy, including working through any relevant certification and accreditation programs.

On-call work will be expected as you will be responding to security incident escalations from our security monitoring capability and problems with control capability.

You can contribute to:

  • Reviewing all designs around the assets and services NEO assures for security compliance against NEO security requirements.
  • Assist in assessing the risk of non-compliance and seeking options for alternative control options
  • Providing advice to engineering on control compliance and make recommendations accordingly
  • Assisting with decisions around relevant compensating controls with the relevant risk assessor
  • Ensuring security requirement identification occurs at the beginning of the projects and throughout their lifecycle
  • Performing user-acceptance testing and business readiness testing
  • Ongoing review of relevant assurance plans to ensure compliance against agreed operating model
  • Ongoing management of any security exemption to seek resolution and ensure compliance with any agreed temporary control

A bit about you:

You will come from a Telecommunication (preferably) or IT environment and will have worked within the security technology sector. Experience in risk and compliance reviews of projects in a Telecommunication Networks Engineering and Operations environment will be crucial to this role. You will bring strong negotiation and presentation skills as well as exceptional analytical and report writing skills.

Ideally, you will have a CISSP industry certification. You will be comfortable working across various domains such as Satellite, Fixed Wireless, FTTX, Aggregation and Management Networks, OOB Networks, diagnostic and test systems within the Active Network.

Technically you will have a solid understanding of relevant telecommunication security (ISO27k, ISM, PSPF) and their standards (ITU-T, MEF) and operational frameworks (ITIL, COBIT). Experience working with nbn network technologies (GPON, VDSL, VPLS, DWDM) and nbn server technologies (Redhat, Windows, Solaris) will be highly advantageous.
