We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel, Transactions Legal to join a legal team that supports a number of business units. Reporting to the Head Counsel, Transactions Legal and assisting other members of the team, the key responsibilities of this role involve acting as adviser primarily to our front office and credit teams on a range of transactions for our Wholesale & Major Agricultural Clients divisions. This role also includes the reviewing, drafting and implementation of legal policies, procedures and training materials as well as some research to be able to monitor regulatory/law changes and provide advice accordingly.
This role would suit you if you are a 4-7 year lawyer who has a good grounding in banking and finance from a mid or top tier law firm. Whilst we do not expect you to be an expert, experience in some key areas including transactions, debt finance, trade finance, securitisation, inventory finance and/or derivatives regulation and documentation will be looked upon favourably as would time spent in-house on secondment or otherwise. You are familiar with and comfortable working on more complex and sophisticated deals and pride yourself on your ability to build robust stakeholder relationships to reach the best outcomes for the business. You are a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW or equivalent, hold a Bachelor of Law at minimum.
