Our HR Employee Relations team of professionals provide outstanding advisory and consulting services to all business Groups across the full range of Employee Relations matters. In the ANZ Region, HR provides high quality, agile and scalable HR services to all business units. In this position, being dedicated to some specific business groups, broadly you will advise on employment legislation and associated risks, HR practices across Macquarie, work on projects and assist and guide business managers, coaching as required.  In considering the components in more detail, you will 

  • advise management with respect to relevant HR practices and employment risks
  • provide specialist advice on practical people management and employment related issues (e.g. restructuring, performance management)
  • interpret and implement HR policies in line with Macquarie’s policies and risk management framework
  • perform investigatory work relating to internal complaints and disciplinary issues
  • train and coach line managers
  • work collaboratively with our WH&S team on employee health-related issues
  • analyse and report on trend analysis on internal ER issues 

Tertiary qualifications in either Human Resources, Employee Relations or Employment Law are necessary. A stable and progressive career to date working in an advisory capacity to clients and stakeholders is essential as is practical knowledge of Federal and State employment laws. While financial services experience is highly desirable, experience from within a legal, consulting and professional services environment is also appropriate. Multi-jurisdictional or international experience will be highly regarded. 

Key attributes will be your ability to partner, influence and support, sound judgement to balance commerciality with risk and an ability to demonstrate flexibility in your style to meet the varying client needs of delivery. Finding solutions to problems and situations in some of the fast-paced business teams is needed given time-critical situations will arise.  We know you will understand fully the importance of confidentiality, sensitivity and diplomacy in your delivery; gaining trust as well as credibility at all levels.
