About the Role
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated students to join AGL Loy Yang and participate in our Vacation Employment program. Commencing in November 2017 and concluding in February 2018 these roles will be based in the Latrobe Valley at the AGL Loy Yang site in the power station and open cut coal mine.
These roles present an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic University students to gain invaluable experience working with an industry leader in the power sector. We are seeking students who are currently undertaking their final two years of university studies in one of the following disciplines:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil/Environmental/Mining Engineering
To be considered for these roles you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Currently undertaking your final two years of university studies
- Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A true desire and passion to work within the power generation industry
- A keen desire to learn and own your career development plan

AGL Loy Yang owns and operates a 2,200 megawatt Power Station. The power station supplies approximately one third of Victoria’s power requirements or 10 per cent of total generation for the National Electricity Market.
