Starting her career in ICT nearly 10 years ago, Gemma has worked with Australia's leading IT consultancies. She is the youngest ever board member appointed to the IT Queensland Board. In 2017, Gemma was a Telstra Business Women's Awards finalist across two categories (For Purpose and Young Business Woman). In 2016, she won the WIT Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a #Techdiversity Award in the Leaders in Advertising category and was a finalist in the 2015 ARN Women in ICT Awards in the Innovation category.
Through years of working in an industry under-represented by females, Gemma co-founded DCC Jobs with the goal of making a difference. It is now seen as one of Australia's leading authorities and ambassadors of gender diversity.
DCC Jobs works with Australia's leading companies who are focused on diversity & inclusion including Commbank, Origin Energy, AECOM, Bank of Queensland, Caltex, Curtin University, Minter Ellison, Swinburne University, Accenture, Atlassian and BHP Billiton.
As DCC runs a number of community events with proceeds donated to charity, we are unable to accommodate a large number of requests for pro-bono speaking engagements. We are happy to evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis.
Feedback From Gemma's Speaking Engagements:
"Gemma was the perfect presenter at our Diversity event. She was able to present on Diversity and provide some great examples (including personal ones) about how organisations can ensure an inclusive workplace. Gemma engaged the audience quite well and customised her presentation to meet our needs. We received great feedback about Gemma after her presentation. Thanks Gemma for your efforts, which made our Diversity event a success!"
Joelle Ireland, Key Account Marketing Manager, Cyient Communications.
"Gemma was a fantastic MC for our conference, Australian Women in Agriculture. She facilitated our panel with ease and we received excellent feedback from our delegates. With her background in women's leadership, she was a thoughtful and provocative facilitator that brought out the best in our speakers. I would recommend her in a heartbeat."
Caitlin Boucher, Marketing and Sponsorship Coordinator, Australian Women in Agriculture.
"Thanks to Gemma I’m inspired to take more initiative in driving my own career and questioning gender based treatment and behaviour."
Lucy Woodward, PWC.
"Gemma has inspired me to think more about my career, challenge sexist behaviour and not tolerate bias, unconscious or otherwise."
Regina Gleeson, Queensland Health.
"By using the lessons from the Personal branding session that Gemma ran I have totally shifted how I show up in my career and business life."
Wadzanai Nenzou, Herconomics.
"We found Gemma friendly, down-to-earth, articulate and confident and we enjoyed listening to her journey. The biggest benefit of Gemma’s session was that it connected all the women in the room with one another and enabled us to recognise the value of collaborating, to strengthen personal branding, to grow and gain confidence and bask in self-worth! Following the session, we’ve continued the conversation and even created an action plan to keep the momentum going!"
Oil Search Women's Network (OWN).
"Gemma is an engaging and inspiring speaker who is able to capture the interest of the audience with skill. She is extremely approachable and is genuinely keen to deliver value to the audience listening to her. I would love to invite Gemma again to speak at our future events and I received quite a lot of positive comments on her speech from those who attended."
